We love the story of the parade of palms. We love the story of Easter. We know the story of the Last Supper and Good Friday. But what about the rest? Do we remember what happened that last week?
Providence is a congregation blended from different faith backgrounds that include Methodist, Catholic, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, and many others. We are a Baptist church and embrace historical Baptist principles. We believe every individual stands before God without anyone in between-- no priest, no minister, no church. We believe the Bible is the word of God we take seriously, but not literally. Each person has the right and responsibility to read and interpret Scripture for themselves without a larger group telling them what to do. We believe in the separation of church and state, and fight for religious liberty for all people.
We are a theologically progressive congregation and we support everyone--regardless of who you are--to discover who God is creating you to be. Questions are encouraged and we want individuals to think about their faith. We invite you to come see if you find Providence to be a loving, caring, inclusive community connected to God and to each other.
