The Adult Ministry at Providence seeks to engage adults on their faith journey and encourage them to grow a deeper relationship with God. Adults have opportunities during Sunday School, Wednesday nights, and at other times throughout the year to spend time in Bible Study, faith formation, and topical life studies.
Sunday School is the backbone of the Adult educational ministry. Our classes are intergenerational and use both conventional and topical literature for their curriculum. Smyth & Helwys, the Upper Room, and Abingdon Press are a few of the publishers adult classes use to spark conversations for learning.
Frequently on Wednesday nights, we present topical seminars of interest to the congregation. These "life-seminars" range from in-depth Bible studies, to practical discussions including caring for aging parents, to discovering new ways to relate to your child and teen.
Throughout the year, a monthly book club meets to discuss the theology found in contemporary literature. We also offer longer commitment courses like Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" and "Companions in Christ" an Upper Room spiritual formation study.
